June 2019 - Patty's 60th Birthday
Edith and I travelled to Grand Forks to attend my sister Patty's 60th Birthday on June 15th. The party was on Sunday the 16th at their house in Grand Forks.
On the morning of the party, we visited Patty's son Jessie and his partner Courtney at their property in Grand Forks.
The Love Shack - this is where Jessie and Courtney are living while their house is being built. Their old house was destroyed by a massive flood that hit Grand Forks in 2018.
They are raising pigs, which have more living room than they do.
This is the river that flooded last year. There are two rivers that flow through the area, the Granby and the Kettle. At this point, both rivers have joined and it is called the Kettle River.

Some of Patty's grandchildren live in Grand Forks - Jade's boys Alexi and Dallas. Jody's daughter Ivy and son Roman live in Port Moody.
This is Ivy, she's quite the young girl for a 3 year old.

Jody and Jay have a second child, a one year old boy named Roman.
Here's Ivy riding a bike.
Jay's keeping an eye on Roman out in the yard.
I think there's a strong resemblance between father and son.
For the party, the kid's were scheduled to perform, singing along to recorded music. Ivy, th city girl, Ivy was to sing a country song. Alexi and Dallas, the small town boys, were performing rap music.
I recorded video, but was unable to pick up enough sound volume. The kids had trouble with the microphone they were using.
The boy's video was a bit clearer.
The sound came through well for the Happy Birthday song.
It was time to take some family photos, first Patty and Porty.

This is Patty's friend Debbie from Tyvan Saskatchewan. They worked together there back in the late 70's and early 80's.
